Crown Chakra - Spiritual ConnectionMay 06, 2022
The crown chakra (Sahasara), the highest chakra, represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually.
When you fully open your crown chakra, you're thought to access a higher consciousness—something very few people ever do!
Location: The only chakra to be found outside of the physical body, this is located just above the crown at the very top of the head in what is considered our “spiritual body”.
There are less words about this chakra as it is the chakra associated with higher consciousness, pure unconditional love and a state of pure being (beyond words!).
There are no physical organs associated, but it is associated with vitalising the upper brain, and the colour is a light purple or indigo, or white.
Associated Themes & Emotions: Inner and outer beauty, spiritual connection
The crown chakra is the seventh chakra, 7th Chakra Symbol is One thousand petal Purple Lotus.
When you have this chakra in balance, your other chakras will receive widespread energy. You will also feel linked to the universe.
The chakra will physically affect your body through the pineal gland along with numerous areas of your nervous system.
It governs the pituitary gland located deep in the brain, and it can be awakened by regular meditation.
The crown chakra is in control of the right side of your brain and when you meditate, you can bring balance to the chakra.
The colours violet and white will help you balance the crown chakra, and its connecting musical note is B.
The symbol associated with the chakra is information, and when you have the crown chakra in balance, you will feel optimistic. Also, your awareness of the world will increase.
Once you begin focusing your attention on the meanings and effects of the seven chakras, you can use the elements to align your body physically and mentally.
This chakra connects you to the universal source energy and gives you an idea of the infinite nature of time and space.
At a physical level, this chakra is linked to the pineal gland, which is a light detector. The Crown chakra is where the light of the soul is linked with the Will of the creator, or the Divine. To use a more mundane metaphor, it is through the crown that we communicate with the Upstairs Management. It is important to remember that this has nothing to do with control. It is a source of guidance from the highest level that is always available. We only have to ask.
Saints and holy people are depicted with a light or halo round their heads – this is the
expanded Crown chakra, shining like a beacon, beaming out the fact that body and soul are one – being in the world, but not if it. It is through the Crown chakra that we experience the highest states of meditation, that takes us into a state beyond words – an experience of no-thingness beyond mind, body and emotions. But to work only with the higher centres without knowledge of the others is like using a power tools that is not earthed. Making contact with the energies of the Brow and Crown chakras unblocks the channels that enable the personality to receive light, strength and joy from the Divine source. When the power of the soul and spirit flows in, then no task has to be undertaken using the limited strength if the little ego alone, and surrender does not feel like a threat.
Total despair is demonstrated when someone places their hands over the top of their heads. They feel as if they have lost connection with life itself. Blessings are conferred here and perhaps the pointed hats of bishops and witches and the domed headdresses of the pharaohs were intended to act as ‘lightening’ conductors.
The Sanskrit name for this chakra is ‘Sahasrara’, meaning ‘thousand –fold’. Another name for this place of connection to the Divine is the ‘thousand-petalled lotus’. The colour associated with this chakra is violet or amethyst. So we have now traversed the spectrum of the rainbow from red to violet, from earth to heaven, from matter to spirit. Spiritual awakening is about liberation and the quest for what is really real. It is about experience, not dogma. The thousand-fold mysteries of the Crown chakra beckon like a lighthouse in the darkness. unfailingly drawing us Home.
The chakras are the spectrum through which the soul experiences life in physical form. Heaven and Earth come together through the chakra system.
The affirmation for this chakra is:
I am that I am
- Be aware of which chakra you are responding from in any situation.
- Pay attention to both ends, (polarities) of the chakra spectrum – connect with Mother Earth as well as Father Sky.
- Notice what colours you like or dislike – how does that relate to the issues of the chakra of that colour? If there’s a colour that you definitely DON’T like, ask yourself what this might be about in the context of the concerns of that chakra.
To bring about balance, get some paper, or cloth of that colour and place it somewhere so that you see it each day.
- Each colour has a different vibration and your subtle anatomy will ‘pick-up’ the frequency from the cloth or paper.
- Become more aware of your heart energy and USE it.
